Intake manifold gasket leaking coolant into engine
Could a clog in the cooling system cause to much pressure to build and cause the intake gasket leak water into the engine?
Head gasket, intake gasket, and thermostat just replaced. Head gasket is not leaking (atleast when I rev it i get no pressure in overflow tank), it starts and idles fine but when driving it hesitates and begins burning coolant out exhaust, then will bog with hardly any power.
Thanks for any suggestions!

Did you have the head checked to see if it needed resurfacing (to see if it was warped)? Also proper torque on the headbolts? if its burning coolant theres only a couple things it could be...head gasket, warped head, or a cracked head. does it overheat? i hope this helps you out...
Had head resurfaced, didn't pressure check. Everything was torqued and sequenced. I had used some sandpaper when cleaning up intake manifold, today pulled of intake and rtv'd around water jacket, seemed to fix momentary (no smoke at idle) but when I drove it seemed to blow almost instantly and was burning coolant and bogging if at about half throttle but still idling/starting normal.
I donno cracked head possibly? or not level intake? I didnt let the rtv set to long but Ive never seen a intake leak with a new gasket.

As far as all the engines ive put together iv never had the issue if a warped intake manifold...but it doesnt mean it couldnt happen. just like you i have also have used rtv on the intake manifold gasket...i havent seen that gasket leak either. Its a long shot but you by chance didnt accidentaly switch a small coolant hose with one that are supposed to have vacuum to the manifold(dont mean to question your knowledge) its just that sometimes rhe anxiety of having your car running takes over lol. Im gonna still lean towards the head maybe being cracked. could the head gasket maybe be upside down? ...im still thinkin its gonna be the head or something with the gasket though
Thanks for your reply. Yeah I am going to do a compression check tomorrow. Have you heard of hooking a air compressor line to the compression gauge line to check for cracks? Seemed possible but was unsure of that one.
I tell ya I am sure getting good at assembling and reassembling after jumping to conclusions I put another head gasket in today thinking maybe I put the first one in upside down, not the case. Just one of those days I guess...
Cheers from the west side!

hahaha my mommy loves shopping at north bend! lol It wouldnt hurt to try the compressor idea but i think heat would be the missing factor to make the crack open just enough to see if it was the issue. Forgot to ask you what engine is it youre working on? Well let me know how it goes man...last thing is have the machine shop check the head for ya.
