Default Headlights come on but the tail lights do not?

I got a 1991 honda accord ex and discovered that the tail lights dont work. I got some pictures here to help solve the problem. Picture quality is not great due to crappy phone.

Heres the headlight switch. I start taking it apart and i noticed its all slimy and full of fuzz and dog hair.

Heres the connection point, all looks well so far.

Heres the back of the headlight switch when the connector is off.

Heres the connector itself. I have no idea what is wrong with it. I feel as if one of the wires is dead. I dont know which wire is for what.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Crap shot theory.
Would you happen to have an aftermarket car alarm?
On two occasions I have encountered bad wiring done where to flash the lights for arm/disarm the wiring was cut and spliced into, this will cause a failure of the rear lighting when the splice fails. Although one car still had the brake lights as on that vehicle the brake lights circuit was not run with the rear harness.

I feel like a fool, it was the fuse. Could have sworn i had checked that in the past. The only problem is i replace the fuse and the lights work but on next start up, car turns on and instantly turns off and fuse blown again! What is all connected with tail lights and dashboard. Is there a bad connection somewhere?

Mmmm now the tricky part, finding the short. You could have a bare wire rubbing against the frame anywhere. Although I will say that there are times when the bulbs will case it to blow. What you can do is remove all the bulbs, turn your lights on, and start replacing them one by one till it blows again. if it blows with all the bulbs removed then you gots a bare wire my friend.
