Default 99 Civic VP Engine Temp Gauge Pegged

Silly thing goes to extremely hot even when first starting in the morning. The book says that there is probably a short in the wiring.

Has anyone else experienced this issue and is there a known fix for it?

Thanks in advance!!

Sender is proably bad. Unhook sensor lead and you should have no meter movement. If you do the lead is shorted somewhere.
