Default Need help diagnosing a missfire issue

Hey, honda tech I have a 91 crx with a b16a swap I'm using a obd1 Ecu,
I am having a problem with my motor sputtering, It runs fine when I first drive it, after 5min my motor starts to sputter and gets worse and worse.

Heres a little lead, I can hit vtec at 5800 when cold but once it's warmed up I try to hit vtec again and I get a code 21 which is the solenoid?

I didn't have this problem before when I first had the swap put in. I just need to check some issues, My oil level stayed the same I don't see much smoke coming from exhaust and my coolant level still the same as well where else can I check?

just changed spark plugs as well.

100 views not one reply? I've been reading on the web trying to figure out some good leads to check out. Can anyone suggest anything?

Bump, fixed the electrical issue it was my alternator, but my car still missfires, and tach sometimes stops working.

Also when I turn on the headlights at night it takes like 10 seconds for my dashboard lights to turn on.

When I hit Vtec, it sometimes throws a code 21 for Vtec pressure sensor.

Sounds like your distributor is failing, causing both misfires and tach issues. As for vtec, remove the solenoid assembly from the head and make sure the screens in the gasket are clean. But be prepared with a new gasket in hand before doing so. I wouldn't advise reusing the old one.

I agree that it is distributor related. more specifically the ICM or coil.the ICM sends the tach signal.I'd start there, but this can be anything from the dizzy to the spark plugs.

The dashboard lights problem sounds like a dead battery
