Default How to add new ecu?

I'm running a stock p75 ecu on a b20b in my ej1. My new p75 came in the mail today and is waiting for me at my parents house till I get out of work. :/ It's chipped and base mapped for my setup on chrome. Do I simply plug this new one in or do I need to pull my ecu fuse or anything like that giving it time to reset?

Best Advice: Leave the old P75 in your ride, take new ECU to your tuner who will be tuning your car.

I'm pretty sure I'll have to purchase a widband? I'm real new to this tuning thing. I don't have much money at the moment. Christmas bonus on the 11th though. My car doesn't run to great with the stock p75. Smells like gas sometimes and has a strange idle here and there. Not the typical iac irratic idle. Back fires way to much also. If I'm on the highway cruising in 5th for a while and begin to slow down it backfires so hard it's insane. Has header and straight pipe to a 2010 oem si muffler. I've done a compression test and I'm 175 across the board. I'm not smoking or losing fluids. This new ecu should make it run better though until it's fully tuned passed the pre-existing basemap right?

sounds like a new ecu isn't going to fix your issue. do you have a check engine light on?
