oil pressure problem help plz
92 eg hatch
fresh motor maybe has 500 miles on it before the turbo was put on
built gsr sleeved pistons rods...all the good ****
b16 head valvetrain cams
sheepeybuilt top mount
borgwarner 62mm fmw twin scroll t4
car was getting tuned everything was perfect making good power car spun 3rd on the rollers so went to do a 4th gear pull and car broke up and was acting all stupid
so come to find out vtec aint work and car went rich so we checked the screen and it was clean not one shaving. Then we checked the solinoid we jumped it and it clicked checked the ecu wires all that was good so we come to find its mechanical not electrical.
so we throw a oil pressure gauge on the car idle good 20psi rev it up 40psi-50psi and crusing was good 40-50psi but when we would make a pass it would go from 40psi down to 10psi. vtec needs like 70psi to lock the rockers so thats why no vtec.
so today i put on a brand new oil pump i checked the pickup tube make sure i dnt see anything clogged up and get everthing back together. i start the car cuz its at 80psi thats normal for cold start then it warms up it then reads 20 psi normal idle and then i make a pass and it had better oil pressure but not enough its reads between 40-60psi still not enough to get vtec
i am 100% clueless idk what to do next what to check plz plz someone give me so type of advice
could the 1st pump failing mess up a bearing.....i didnt see any shavings in the oil pan and the motor does not knock
