Default The life of a puck style clutch how long???

Any of you guys with these ceramic or kevlar puck clutches had them last a long time like two years or something???? My ceramic clutch chewed through my flywheel pressure plate and wore itself out in about 10 months!!! Is this just what you get when using puck style clutches on the street? i HAVE A BOOSTED ZC SOHC d16A6 only has 196whp @10psi so it nothing crazy. Any ideas on a clutch for me?

it depends on the friction materials. my 3 puck ceramic lasted about 15K miles. kelar can last forever and will not eat up your flywheel or pressure plate.

I am daily driving with my action 6 puck metalic disc. But.....I have only gone about 1000 miles

I love the feel of it for a daily driver though.

I have an act xtreme with a HD street disc (no puck). Its smooth holds all the power i can through at it and has been lasting OK. I have a little over 20,000 miles on the clutch and its still fine. I have a boosted d16z6 12psi daily. Although i was boosting 18psi on my old built engine (same clutch) for 12,000 of those miles. I have a jun lightweight flywheel also.

I've had the ACT HD 4 puck solid hub for just about a year and a half now with no problems. It has been driven hard too. I inspected the flywheel after 3K miles and there was a small groove in it. After 20K miles, the groove was the same size. Now I'm going strong on over 40K miles on that clutch. Still grabbing like there's no tomorrow.

It has seen many many drag strips, road racing, and all sorts of abuse. It hasnt had an easy life..but its never had a problem.
