transaxle help please

Default transaxle help please

for the last few days my tranny has been grinding going to 4th and its been slipping so i though my clutch was going out but today i was driving down the street and my tranny got stuck in first gear so i yanked it out and no my tranny wont go into any gears would it be the clutch or has the tranny seized up

Sounds like a worn transmission.
However I have had odd issues when engine mounts go bad.

I would check your shift linkage u-joint part. They're known to get all loose eventually and screw some shiznit up. If it is the shift linkage, you gotta get a new one. Also look at your shift linkage bushings and make sure your transmission oil is full and up to par before deciding.

if i play with the shifter a little bit i can get it in gear but i dont know which one lucky i was down the street of my brothers house btw im running a d16y5

It's most likely your shift linkage. When you put it in gear can you move the shifter left and right? It's only suppose to have half an inch of play. Don't forget to check the bushings

i can only get it in first and reverse but it only has about 1/2 an inch play on each side

will it go into gear with the engine off?
you could drain the fluid and have a look at it.

it sounds like it does but not 3rd or 4th so i think it might be the sychro im gonna try to pull it tomorrow

i figured out it was my shift linkage that broke how much would that cost me?
