I have a jdm d15b vtec head on a built y7 block. Which headgasket should i use? Which water pump? Im assuming a y8 water pump for more teeth but i don know which gasket to get. Obviously oem honda but for which motor?
Thanks in advance

For a higher-revving setup, you want the gear with more teeth...to a degree. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the D series, but with a GSR vs LS water pump, if you run an LS pump and rev it beyond its effect limit (~7800rpm) the pump can cavitate...meaning its not pumping water because the blades of the pump are moving at such a rate that it causes the coolant to boil in the low vacuum pocket on the lagging edge of the pump blade.
At least on B-series, the t-belt length is determined by the head and waterpump. If you run a GSR head, run a GSR water pump and the t-belt will fit...I can't say I know the formula for the D series, but someone else will chime in.

Its for a turbo application. I have shot peened rods and srp turbo pistons. Since i have a stock head what would you suggest as a rev limit? I was thinking 8000 rpms would be good but i dont wanna risk anything since its my daily
Thoughts?

Also do you know the rated hp for shot peened rods? Im hoping on breaking 300whp. Anything after 300 and id be happy but i dont wanna compromise the rods either
Thoughts? And thanks for the answer and thanks in advance for these questions lol

Do you have shot peened LS rods or D series rods? I honestly don't know what they're "rated" at, but I would think you should be fine. The stock bottom ends will make mid 200's before they start bending rods.
