Input shaft bearing, what bearings to replace?
2005 civic LX
I have the notorious input shaft bearing noise. Loud as **** without the clutch engaged, goes away with clutch engaged.
I am going to pull the tranny soon myself, and I know someone who can open it up and replace the bearings.
I'm sure this guy knows what bearings I need, but I want a second opinion. I was told 3-4 bearings should be replaced while the transmission is opened up. Any info of these bearings will be greatly appreciated. I need to get these things replaced asap so I can sell the car, because the bearing has gotten much louder recently.
Thanks

That should provide at least some input.
Some people like to skimp and only replace the MIS bearing, others replace all case bearings. Doesn't hurt to do it all at once to avoid having to take it all apart when another bearing goes bad. Whichever bearings are not functioning smoothly or have any play in them, replace them in addition to the MIS bearing.
Personally, I'd replace all of the case bearings though some may think this is unnecessary.
