Check engine light resets once car is off
The few times that ive had the check engine light come on (like disconnecting the IACV and the idle dropping down too low), once I turn the car off, the engine light goes off. So the only way to read the codes would be to read it when the car is running. Once I turn the car back on, the light is still off. It doesnt seem to be storing the code. While it may be nice because I dont ever have to worry about the code, it is annoying because if something happends and I want to find out what, I cannot. Anything to check why it resets when engine is off? Fuses or anything? Thanks
The fuse looked good, but I replaced it anyways. Ill have to wait to see if the check engine light comes on to see if it worked or not. I know the clock memory didnt work. That still resets. Though my clock has been ahving some other issues as well. It was dim when I bought the car, then one day it was nice and bright. Now it is dim again. Ill have to remove it and check the wiring out.
