Default Motor Mount

hey guys, i have a 2001 Prelude base, i replaced my front engine mount a few months back after buying the car, it was really bad, hollowed out, not even connected anymore, the rubber was just being held by the bolt going through it.....

after replacing, felt better as far as jumping up and down when letting off the gas, but now it does it again a bit

could it be the rear MM too since the front was real bad, i can take my hand and move the engine front-to-back and it moves pretty easy, not sure if thats normal

ive gotten alot of good info here and appreciate all the help

If one got that bad, it is probably safe to say that all 4 are shot, the only hard one to get at is the rear, just do them all.

You could also upgrade to a polyurethane mount from innovative or hasport. They are stiffer, so you will feel slightly more vibration in the car from the engine, but you'll never have to do it again.
I dot mind the vibration as I'm rarely in stop an go traffic, but I can SEE te dash shake when starting from a stop without bringing up the revs.

cheaper is to make them filled with automotive glass glue. I do this every time and it works.

I would agree also that the other 3 mounts are probably in bad shape
too. So good idea to do them all. As snobordboy mentioned the rear
mount can be a real fn pain.

yeah, thanks guys, ill do that soon, i thought the front was a pain in the *** lol, so it sounds like im definately in trouble here with the rear, but since i replaced the front mm ive graduated to air tools when i replaced my clutch, so things are much easier now

next time i get a little paranoid about the running of my car ill definately be back

I live in Ottawa so I ship to the UPS store just across the border in NY and drive 45 mins to get it... I don't min paying the import tax to save on the shipping. Most of the time it's dirt cheap shipping within the US. As far as buying them online, the innovative mounts are pretty much the same price anywhere you look. Xenocron and Kteller sell them, an you can also buy straight from innovative.
