Default D-series L3 and P20 final gears

Well I have a few spair trans laying around and was wondering what I could piece together. I want to use a (90 crx dx) 70 tooth L3 dx final gear with my (93 civic ex) P20 16 tooth main shaft (4.375). I just slapt it all back together and noticed a slight growling sound coming from the diff area. Pulled it all apart again then inspected and compared both final gear (P20 & L3), that's when I noticed the L3 final is maybe 2mm larger in diameter then the P20. The diameter is larger so the teeth on the final stick farther into the mainshaft teeth. There is no binding just a slight growl. Is this just something I can just baby for a bit and let brake in or will it just brake lol.

You can't mix different ring gears and countershafts to make your own FD ratio. You can't mix hydro and cable RG/CS (RG is dimensionally the same, the CS is a different height).

Thanks Aquafina that's exactly what I was looking for. Pulling her outta there and gong back to the 4.25.
