Default GSR rebuild questions...

I recently bent a few valves in my GSR head. Since I have to go into the head I figured why not do a "cheap" rebuild in the bottom end and maybe make a few changes... I'm not looking to make a ton of horsepower! Just looking for a little more HP!!!

Parts I already have:
Skunk2 IM
AEM CAI
Comp. Clutch 12lb. flywheel
Hytech Rep. header

Now I have a friend that "supposedly builds motor's" (long story short... he's the buster turned gearhead) for his team & others... He recommends most of these parts based on his & the teams race build's!

Parts I'm Thinking about:

Supertech valve seals, valve locks, bronze guides
*(my friend does not recommend using the bronze guides, simply stating I don't need them)

Zex/Comp Cams retainers

Supertech FLAT valves over the DISHED valves
*(my friend again simply stating flat valves are better)

Micropolish the crank

ACL Race Main, Rod bearings & Thrust washer
*(my friend recommends Clevite bearings over ACL, stating the Clevite bearings are BETTER & wear more evenly then ACL and fit better then the ACL's)

Blox or Supertech Dual Valve Springs

Cometic head gasket

ITR cams or "something" a little more aggressive...

Now my friend did recommended using 81mm NPR P73 high compression pistons & rings... I like this idea!!!
But my question here is...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/200848220692...84.m1438.l2649
Does the make since to you???!!!! Now maybe I'm stupid but are they saying by using these pistons in my GSR, I will bump my compression from 10.6:1 to 11.4:1 or 11.6:1 !!!???

And of course ARP Head, Rod, & Main studs & bolts

I may have missed something along the way but I'm looking for GOOD well informed comments/opinion's!

More important that what Type of bearings you get is your clearances. Just make sure you have your clearances measured ang spec'd out. I used honda oem bearings to get the exact clearances I wanted to ensure reliability.

Also if you looking for a set of itr cams hit me up ;-)

Plastiguage is not a reliable form of measuring. While it cant hurt to do it. You still need the clearances measured with a micrometer.

The acl ane cleivite bearings are standard size or "green" honda bearings. So if you measure out your clearances and you need green bearings then go with acl but if you need a different size you may wanna pay the price for piece of mind.
