Default Half Radiator

Anyone have a link or pictures of a install on a half radiator in a ef civic engine bay with a b 16 engine.

I have a larger OEM honda core in my car now, And I am replacing it with half radiator. I am wondering what the trick is to install. I have looked for some thread and info, but nothing pops up, A pic or something would help.

I put my half rad in, and notice it does not fit. The holes do not line up. I know there may be some modifying involved When I closed my hood it did not close. ( I have a JDM front end with raised hood and all)

most people use an aftermarket traction bars, that allow the half radiator to drop lower, to fit, as well as brackets that support it. alternatively, you can obtain a radiator that is made for the ED chassis, it is shorter, although those also require modification to the existing crossmember, or an aftermarket solution.
Why may i ask you need to do that?

I have had a OEM JDM 98 spec type R header sitting. (4-1 header)

I started to modify my crossmember and lay it all out. I have seen the modification done before, I just thought a half rad would fit in.

I ended up trimming some of the metal at the bottom of mounts.

Hopefully this works. My radiator is out of a 92 civic. I guess it is the wrong one.

i have read, years ago, that a domestic radiator, from an escort, or some other compact car, fits, although requires a remote filler neck, as that one doesn't have it on the radiator itself.

Well I made some progress, working the type R pipe in, Removing alot of stuff like brackets and tow hooks. Type R pipe needs to be welded/fit on the connection end. (looking for a 2.5 inch collector)

Got it pretty much mocked up. Looking for a good Traction kit for the EF civic.

Need to get one I believe. Conserve on space.

Old original rad next to the 92-95 civic style

Its nice to have a honda. ( that runs)

I ended up drilling out them 2 OEM rad brackets in the 3rd picture. I plug welded the holes and than clamped the bottom and welded it for support.

At this point I am wating for a traction bar, want to replace the newer crossmember. Going to try and weld in some L brackets or something to get the radiator to mount lower.

Also need the 2.5 inch collector/gasket to get things connected. Going to be going over the car completely in the next day or 2. Probably after the holiday. Have a list of things I need to get to service the engine/drivetrain
