Default Can You Identify This Black Box?

I pulled this bitch out from under the dash after I was having some problems starting the car.

It was spliced into the ignition wire, the second I pulled it out it broke something completely and I couldn't start the car, So i removed it and put the wires back the way they should be.

The box lead to this plug towards the bottom of the dash.

This isn't a issue really I just want to know what kind of sadistic device this is that f'd up my ignition all winter.

yeah i'm gunna guess maybe there is a special pattern or something special you need to do to start the car, like when people install magnetic relays to act as a kill switch

It's been years since I seen one but it almost looks like the "Prolock" option.

it's just a piece of **** old school starter/ignition kill.. there should be a removable card thing on the piece that mounts to the bottom of the dash. that little card thing acts as a jumper between the two heavy guage wires coming out of it. remove the card, it cuts the circuit. put the card back in, the circuit is complete and the car starts.

i pull them out of cars all the time at work.. was such a cheesy *** way of doing things
