i bought a 99 hatch with a d16y5 block y8 head and y7 intake manifold. it has been running with out vtec hooked up on the stock dx ecu. i have an obd2b y8 intake mani, and obd2b 5speed y8 ecu. (p2p)

ive been planning on swapping the intake mani and doing the iacv fix but i just found out that the y8 head that is on the block is obd2a not 2b. i assume i will need to plug the air injection holes in my manifold but will it still run right being on an obd2b ecu?

also any clarification on d16y5 (hx civics) whether or not they have a knock sensor would be appreciated.

 

The obd2b ecu will be fine. The CVT Y5s had the knock sensor so you'll just have to look on the back of the block to see if yours does or not.
