Icon2 Catalytic converter options

Hey guys just bought a tri-y h22 header from kteller and was putting together my exhaust ideas at this time. Don't have all the money at once so I've been buying 1 part per paycheck. Anyway to the point I'm looking at 3" inlet/outlet catalytic converters, I live in Oklahoma and we don't have any smog checks or anything of that nature. Was looking on Summit and saw the massive price difference such as : http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mpe-94009/overview/ @ 79.99 and http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mpe-14109/overview/ @ 240.00
Now I realize the 2nd one is "High Flow" but honestly what kind of resistance are the regular cats putting on the exhaust? Is it really worth it to pay an extra 160.00? I planned on running 3" kteller piping after the cat.

I read that some of these universal cats "You need to be careful when buying a universal cat. They can run at a different temp than the OEM, which throws off the vehicle's oxygen sensors-- this'll leave your CEL on permanently. And if you live in a state that's **** about emissions inspections (like TX), then you're officially screwed. " Should I be concerned with something like this?

Thanks for your help and input.

This is the one I use: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MPE-99659HM/ The spun cell cats have proven to flow a little better than their standard-style counterparts. The heavy-metal version is meant as a stock replacement, meaning it can filter/convert to DEQ specs. My car doesn't throw any codes and I haven't had any emissions problems yet with it; I don't remember though if I took took it threw DEQ last time or not, I may have put it on after. You should only have problems if they do a visual inspection; if your car is OBD2 they might just hook up to the OBD2 port like they do here in OR, or they might do a tailpipe sniff, but in either case you should be fine.

Just gotta wait til the beginning of next month to get the piping kit from kteller. Will probably go make an install thread then. Thanks again for your guys' help

Looks sweet. I'm doing a similar setup in the spring, Kteller piping vibrant header, race cat, race muffler, resonator and street power black muffler. Did you go with the stainless piping from kteller?

Yeah I went with the stainless the header/cat/muffer are ss so I went with the ss piping as well. The shipping was pretty expensive to get to oklahoma city so when you order the piping kit make sure you set your funds aside for 50+ $ shipping

Honestly u don't need a cat period I would rather own a dog. Anyway u could just put a straight piece of pipe in there and as long as u dong need a o2 sensor there u would be fine if u already have a cat and it has two o2 bungs in it I would have one welded in or else it will eventually fall out.
