Default Honda Civic 1994 Horn Relay

Hi guys, I'm new here and I just bought my first car which is a Honda Civic 1994. I noticed that the horn is currently not working on my car. I hit the button for the horn, but no noise sounds at all. Not even a click. So I started investigating the problem. I checked the underhood fuse box where the 20A fuse for the horn is. The fuse is not burnt. So the next thought i had was to try and find the horn relay... but this is my problem. I have no idea where the horn relay is! Does anyone know where it would be on my model of car? Also, if you have any other information as to fixing my horn if the problem is not with the horn relay, please post. Help me out! Thanks in advance.

Is there an aftermarket steering wheel?

If you also have SRS, then the relay for your horn will be on the right-hand side of your under-dash fuse box.

Don't think so... I have SRS but i'm pretty sure it should be on the left side of the under-dash fuse box. I'm pretty sure this is the same diagram of my car.

I checked by unplugging the relay that the diagram called "Power window relay" and my windows no longer worked. So according to the diagram, the horn relay should be on the left, but I don't see it...

Well, it's either one or the other. I'm just going from memory here. If there's no relay on either side of the fuse box, look for the 4-pin connector that would plug in to it. The correct relay, should you find one, will say RC-2201 on it.

I'm going to upload pictures of my car and the underdash fuse box when I get home later today. Maybe if everyone saw my setup, they could help me further.

I looked at two 93 Civics in the junkyard today, and both had the horn relay on the RIGHT side of the fuse box. The diagram is incorrect.

Yes: Last photo at top centre, 4-pin connector on the top right corner of the fuse box.

It's probably not the relay it's probably the clock spring in the steering wheel. Just my 2 cents.

What do you mean the clock spring? Care to elaborate?

There is no wire that goes from the SRS reel directly to the horn. However, the relay is grounded through the steering wheel via the BLU/GRN wire.

there are only grey wires through there. unfortunately the horn, whether powered or grounded is wired through the srs reel.

BLU/GRN turns into GRY at a connector beneath the steering column. You can trace it from there.

I too am having issues with the horn on my '94 Civic. My buttons are missing but the metal plate under the button is still there. When I push it I hear clicking under the dash, but the horn doesn't blow. Any ideas?

If you run power and ground wires directly to the horn from the battery, does the horn sound?
