Default b18b1 reving problem

I did some searching and didnt come up with anything so gonna ask. I just did a headgasket on my LS, and replaced my dizzy with another one because some how it went bad while i was working on the car. I just took it for a short drive was like mabey 5 miles. But when i try and rev when i get to about 2000 rpm it just cuts out untill it drops down to about 1500 and keeps doing it. It will do it in gear and while just reving the engine. Car is idling fine, and i didnt notice any smoke while i was driving. any help would be awsome.
Also i have no codes..

start by checking/adjusting your base timing then. both the head gasket job and distributor replacement require it.
you'll need a timing light. vehicle at operating temp, jump the service connector and aim the light through the timing mark on the lower cover. there will be 4 marks on the crank pulley. one mark on it's own, and 3 marks 14-18* before the lone mark. the lone mark is top dead center. the other 3 are 14,16, and 18* btdc. you want the light to flash on the center of the 3 marks. 16*btdc. if it doesn't, back the distributor bolts off and turn the housing until it does. make absolutely sure that you jump the service connector prior to checking and adjusting

good good. there are a tonne of more detailed writ ups onthe net, or if you have your manual, follow its procedure. make sure to follow all steps. especially jumping the service connector
