Default CV axles and clutch for '96 LS/VTec...

Main question being should I go OEM type replacement, or aftermarket? Got new tires installed yesterday (BFG Sport Comp 2's) and found out my CV's are shot, and I have a slight feeling the clutch is beginning to go, I don't get much acceleration in low gears at high rpm and I almost think I can feel it slipping a little.

Oh, and my speedo is a little off, but I'm pretty sure I'm running about 4k RPM @ 80mph, so this sounds like a GSR tranny? I need to make sure since I am 99% positive the tranny will dictate what axles/clutch I need lol.

For axles, I use... http://www.raxles.com/, 94 RS W/ GS-R transmission and Phantom Grip LSD and a ZEX 75 shot, auto-crossed on Yokohama O32Rs and still good after 8 years.

I use an ACT clutch, finally gone this year, [9 years on the clutch].

Will never use anything other then the above. 94

They seem pretty legit, is there any external way of knowing which tranny I have, or will the CV axles interchange? And is it a b*tch of a job? Mainly I want to make sure to properly ID the tranny before ordering the axles and/or clutch. Think I'll have to take it to a shop for the clutch install...

The part numbers are diff. for the LS and the GS-R drive shafts, [a little].
LS...

GS-R...
http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...s=&view=normal

I can't remember if I was still using my RS axles when I installed the GS-R transmission, or if I installed the Raxles axles at the same time.

If I remember correctly the only diff. was if you have ABS or not, but I am pretty sure it makes no diff., someone else will have to confirm. 94

Hmm, I can't really tell if they're exactly the same. More research lol.
I know I have a B18B1 block, but the tranny I can't see any ID'ing stamps or anything. What kinda price range are the Raxles? Unfortunately I'm on a tight budget and it being my DD I gotta get what I can that will be best for now, autozone has them for 50-60 each, not the best quality but my main goal is to keep my car reliable for another couple semesters of college.Another thing, clutches, are they tranny specific or interchange between LS/GSR?

Really looking forward to a K20.... lol.

Bseries axles for the 3rd gen are all interchangeable.

Only difference being the abs ring on the end for the sensor.
