How do I get my integra to pass inspection! would a intake help?
tx passed the law that 94 and before cars have to do the smog test, so i did it and at 25mph I passed but their were a few toxins at 15mph. Anyone have any ideas what I can do. The guy said it was probaly my exhaust cuz I put it on week before but I doubt thats it because it was used. would a intake help at all, cuz im on factory now. Im gettin 14mpg
intake would not help you at all IMO since the toxins are in the exhaust stream.
HOWEVER if your intake is plugged (no light shines through when you hold the filter element up) then it will definetly be hindering the ability for your car to perform and run properly..which would explain 14mpg (cause thats not good..even under hard driving for a teg)
Change the plugs if you havn't in a while, as they will result in cleaner burning and better mileage.

If you're betting 14mpg you need a serious tune-up...the only time that I get gas mileage even close to being that low is when I'm on the race track going WOT for ~25 minutes...
Yeah im going to get a tune up before I go back for my second try, I got new spark plug wires right before I went to inspection.
How many miles do you have on your car...might need:
plugs
stock wire
cap
rotor
oil change
air filter

yeah my car has a few miles on it like 160k cuz im waitin to do a engine swap as soon as this engine goes out but its stil running strong. Im going to get a tune up and everthing this week and see what happens.
