~~~ low milage GSR pistons/rods ~~~
************* SOLD *************
I bought engine 9yrs ago from engine dealer with less than 40K.
I bought it for a good deal & future use. lol
I just tore down the block to send out to get sleeved.
Everything was just flawless... I've torn down some motors with a lot of milage or abuse but this motor was just want I pictured for being mint.
00 b18c1 GSR piston & rods
- hot tanked & cleaned
- virtually no sign of abuse or piston slap on skirts
- bearings look flawless (don't reuse but just to show you it was never abused)
- great pistons for rebuild
- INCREASE CR from 9.6 to 10.7 in LS/B18a engine for NA application
- DECREASE CR from 9.6 to 9.1 in B16 engine .... for boosted applications
$80 shipped for rods & pistons !
I take paypal & ship via fedex
See vouch thread
Thanks - Charlie
400whp stock gsr block
it's about the fuel & your tuner.
I would of be more than willing to push 450whp if I had arp rod bolts.
Bigger cams would help if you have a turbo that's pushing out more than 55lbs per min.
My engine still running strong (for sale for $750 short block) it's still in the car & getting a new turbo kit mocked up, I just tore down my spare longblock & sent it out to get sleeved.
at 450whp as your goal there are other things which will affect you making that goal such as turbo, injector size, tuner, fuel type, manifold.... no so much about pistons just yet.
I'm shooting for 600whp so I'm just now upgrading rods & pistons.
true, but i do need the internal support to make it to that power, ase mechanic in training so i know alot but the little stuff like the things you mentioned are mostly taken care of, just want to make sure i have the reliability to rev to 9k w/o throwing a rod, or something knocking because it is out of spec thats all, but i can settle for 400 wheel and still be quicker that most cars in my area
I would just look into what others have done to get a better idea of what your most comfortable with.
Reving to 9K, no point unless your aftermarket cams make power that high like pro2.
400whp is not slow by any means in a 2300-2500lbs honda.
as for reliability, I've driven my ef pretty hard this summer with no issues.
Throwing a rod out the whole of the block is more so often is the result of stock rod bolts backing out under a lot of abuse. If your worried just install some arp 9mm rod bolts. Honestly would be fine for 400-450whp range.
I use 10-40w oil, some people like 30w
