Default 99 EX erratic tach and possible power loss

Hey guys about 6 months ago i picked up a 99 Civic EX 5 speed as my daily driver. After about a week of driving the car the tach started to move erratically. It has gotten progressively worse. It seems like the car has almost no power either...i know its a D series...maybe i have been more used to my integra. The car has 162k on it and i was wondering what could be causing the issue. Any ideas?

if the tac is jumping around its the icm or the coil could also be that the dizzy is losing ground neither one of these would throw a code i would start by checking the wireing in the dizzy make sure everything is tight and not corroded and in good shape

Plugs and wires have been done since the problem has arose.

Just wondering if you fixed your problem. I have the same thing on a 98 EX I just bought. I found the tach test wire...but not sure how I can test it...Just wanted to know what your fix was??

To be honest I never fixed it. Other things came up that were more important and this was placed on the back burner. It has actually gotten worse and now the tach never reads correctly. Before it would just act up once in a while, but lately its rarely under 5k. Sorry I can't be of more help at the moment, but maybe ill get some free time and have an opportunity to mess with it.
