1.61 is pretty good for most semi competitive setups. My car does similar times to yours with about 525-540whp 2400lbs best et 10.1@141mph stock gsr gears w/cuff 24.5 tire. The 1.5 60ft mark is not easy to reach especially consistently. We increased power now by almost 100whp but we are turning the power down severely in 1st and 2nd. All motor cars on average seem to pull better 60ft times then FI cars so we are gonna match that power in 1st and 2nd. Some of the more competitive cars we or I cannot relate to as they have gear sets with long first and sometimes 2nd gear ratios. Regardless more than likely the cars running 9's have done 1.5's to get there unless they just throw power down on the back half of the track. I've seen a lot of time slips of the fastest true street and sfwd cars running low 9's with 1.6 60ft's. Regardless we are trying to fix wheel spin in first going into 2nd, then lay into it 3/4 to 100% in 3rd, 100% in 4th. Don't think I answered you post plus my cars never pulled a 1.5 60ft. Oh Well!

A ton of motor cars pull 1.5 60fts in the 10s. You don't need a 9 second car to pull 1.5 60 ft times. Good driving and a properly setup suspension will get you there.

yep, driving, knowing the car and what it likes ie: slick pressure, alignment, suspension settings, corner balancing, weight up front, launch rpm and if on boost then setting up how much boost you want to build off the line and so on. Lots of variables. The best 60ft ive pulled in the SE-R was 1.58, I can usually pull 1.61-1.65 consistently.

Those 60's were done in the 11's and 10's, should of been a 9 second pass on a couple but missed 3rd and had to let off at 900ft mark due to issues on another. This was on a 24.5X9X13 mt slick set to 6.5 psi cold, building 5psi off the line, 5800 rpm 2 step.
