Hey guys so I've noticed that I've only been getting about 20 mpg on my 94 hatch. I've tried to sea foam it but that didn't do me any good. What else can I do to improve my mileage because I don't think single cams should guzzle gas like this

 

Did you replace the fuel filter, spark plugs and wires, and do a complete tune-up? Do you have any CEL? Any modifications?

 

Yup replaced all the filters . Changed the oil, new wires new plugs about 3 weeks ago. And nope no CELS or mods . Bone stock

 

WHAT ABOUT CLOGGED CAT? ARE YOU USING THE SAME GAS EVERYTIME? BECAUSE FOR ME I NOTICED THAT I GET ABOUT 380-390 MILES PER TANK WITH 89 BUT ONLY 320-330 MILES ON 87. I HAVE A 92 DX HATCH WITH ONLY I/E

Sometimes we have to come to the realization that a 15 year old car with 200K on it isnt what it used to be.
New the car probably got superb mileage.. in its current state it may be time to rebuild it or find something newer.
This is indeed a tough question and hard one to grasp that it may cost money to get it to behave like it used to when it was much more fresher.

I rebuilt my LS powered EG and it made a big difference.

Yeah, I say check them. I also heard something about checking your pcv valve, checking your fuel pump and fuel injectors.

 

doesnt matter how old it is, if everything is within spec then u should b getting 40+ on the highway with a d. My motor has tons of miles and has been turbod for the past year, i still get 40 on the highway and 30+ in town. Check compression, fuel delivery, plugs, and wire resistance
