swap problems
Alright I swapped a B18C5 into my 97 civic ex coupe last year and it ran nearly perfect other than maybe a little rich. Over the winter I was stupid and forgot to throw stabil in the tank and got a quarter tank of bad gas when I started it the other day. I went straight to the gas station and filled up with 93 octane. No problems until I went to work about 7 hours later. It started bogging and hesitating, then it would kill. I was thinking it's just the bad gas going through the system. I went to the haynes manual and troubleshooted the problem just to be sure. I came up with everything from a bad fuel filter to bad plugs and wires. I pulled the plugs to replace and they were black with a tiny hint of oil. Put the new ones in (NGK iridiums) and replaced the wires with ngk blues. Had a walbro 255 sitting there so I pulled the pump and did that, and replaced the fuel filter. My megan racing FPR hadn't been adjusting so I put a new aem one in as well. When I started it the first time it sounded like a wrx. Not only that but it jumped around a ton just like it did when I was having my bogging issue 2 days ago. Then it killed. Tried to fire it one more time and got a really loud backfire. Pulled the number 1 plug and the top 4 threads were BLACK and the bridge had a hint of white. Too much fuel? should I try adjusting my FPR down a bit? Any suggestions? Thanks guys.
