Default book time for automatic transmission removal/ y7 motor + vtec trans?

just curious if anyone knew the book time for removing an automatic transmission in a 2000 civic lx? (Stock d16y7) Im trying to get a feel for the cost for a shop to do it, or if I should tackle it myself.
If its a 2-3 hour job Ill let a shop do it, if its a 6 hour job, Ill do it myself.

Anyone had a trans swapped? what was your cost? I asked the dealer but my car isn't worth what they want, so it'd be a shop or myself doing the work.

Also on the topics of transmissions, I was going to order a rebuild trans from syncrotech and add a atf cooler and call it a day. However I have access to a ex trans (vtec d16y8 auto trans) that I know only has 40k on it b/c its my buddies.
I know the d16y7 will mate to the vtec tranny, however does it need anything to work? Ive searched and it seems I don't need anything, just throw it on....bolt it up and go. The gearing will be slightly different but not much to notice.

anyone running a y7 motor and y8 trans (if that makes sense) lol.

Thanks

I would just call a shop. The one I deal with has no problem letting me know these kinds of things.

I'm pretty sure the y8 tranny will have no problems going onto a y7 block.

I didn't say I have a shop. I'm a DIYer myself but I was just referring to the shop I use when I need work done I cannot do, or do not feel like doing it myself.
