Here's t dilemma.. I'm buying a jdm ek4 steering wheel WITHOUT the deployer, could I use the USDM deployer on my current steering wheel on the ek4 one? The reason I want a new steering wheel is because of the common dry-rot that steering wheels get, it's ugly and flakey.

If you just need the circular steering wheel, why not just swap that out and re-use your airbag?

 

Wait - why aren't you swapping over the USDM airbag to the JDM steering wheel? What's the problem doing that?

 

The jdm steering wheel is black.. The USDM airbag is that tannish/brownish color.. It would look hideous.

I think so.. All I know is the site that's selling the steering wheel says it doesn't come with a deployer, so I'm wondering if the USDM deployer will work on the jdm steering wheel. I'm not even sure if the "deployer" is the correct term for it..

 

"deployer" sure as hell isn't the correct term for it.

I've put more than a few EK4 steering wheels on EJs. If you hook it up correctly, it should work just fine. Same with AP1 and first gen AP2 SRS systems.

 

Im guessing you mean the inflator. They remove it because its an explosive device and they can't legaly ship it. The usdm should be the same but i'm not 100% on that
