Default 1999 civic overheats and wont start

I am driving my civic and i forgot to turn on the radiator fan which is connected to the park light temporarily.

And then it overheats and the hose that is connected to the distributor cap explodes. after changing it, I tried starting the car again but it wont run but it cranks. and I noticed the radiator is exploding coolants like hell. Im so worried about my car. I hope anybody can help me.

you might need to resurface your head. same thing happened to mine, except the fan switch did not work. so all that overheating ultimately ended up warping my head, which i resurfaced. WHICH will cost (if you do it yourself) around 700 smackeroonies. in that i mean, you yourself remove the head, BUT you take it to a machining shop so THEY can resurface it, then YOU put it all back together.

Head gasket
Cracked head
Cracked block

How long does it take for the parts to"EXPLODE"?

Have you done any tests? compression?leakdown?

hey this happened to me because my HG was bad so i changed it, took the head to get resurfaced/hot tanked, changed the thermostat and bleeded my cooling system cause my Y8 was still overheating and it was the thermostat that was clogged up!, check my build thread out to see also is your water pump working?, does the fan turn on troubleshoot the ECTS(engine coolant temp switch).

easy way to see if the headgasket(HG) is bad check for a milky mix(coolant mixed with engine oil) on your oil cap on the engine if it looks like yellowish with the oil then your HG is bad needs replacing or is warped, the machine shop can check if the head is cracked or warped when you send them the head but don't jump right to conclusions buddy check for simple things or could be Water Pump is merked

Get a compression gauge and check the cylinders. It will tell you if it is warped head or thermostat.

Do not waste your time guessing the problem. Use the tools that tell you the problem (compression gauge).

wow OP is fail with the wording of this one, but by the sounds of things, the rad has cracked tanks from the pressure of the overheat, pull the plugs to find out the condition of the engine at this point, if you can read plugs fine, but if not, post a pic of the plugs up here, also zoom into the chambers if you can with a good flash or light, can tell if there is evidence of coolant in the chambers sometimes
