'05 Accord Roof "?" leak
My wife's 2005 V6 Accord has a leak that the dealer says is from the sunroof drains. The water only shows in in her driver seatbelt area. There is no indication (such as wet carpet, stained interior) of a leak except when the driver seatbelt is pulled out it is soaked. I read a post that said there is a Honda bulletin speaking to a leak in the roof under the moulding strip running from front to back of the car. I really don't want to donate more money to the dealer for this repair. Any help?
There are four drain hoses for the moonroof, one at each corner, that drain out at the edge of the four wheel openings. If you pour a glass of water on the moonroof, on level ground, you should see water drain out at those four areas. Either one hose is plugged, or has come loose, probably on the driver's side. I would try to find the end of the hose, and try to clear it using compressed air. If the hose is damaged, or disconnected, you might have to remove the headliner to get to it. Open the moonroof, and you should be able to see the drain holes at the corners.
Thanks for the replies. The dealer tells me the same, it is from the sunroof drains. He says he needs to get his "leak tech" in to check and repair. We bought it new. I saw the notice regarding this leak in from the moulding strip but it was for '03 models I think. I am going to check out these four corner drains and see what I can do. Thanks all for the info and help. I will post my results soon.
