Plastic hoods, trunks, and fenders?
was at the local track a few weekends ago and noticed a few cars that had hoods, trunks and a few fenders that where plastic or polymer whatever you call it.
who makes these for civics or does anyone. when i looked for stuff like that all i found where fiberglass and carbon fiber but SUPER expensive and the weight reduction was nullified by the price unless your a full blown race car then it might be worth it.
but i bet a plastic hood and truck would be WAY lighter and couldn't cost that much.

what cars are these on?
just about every big name honda racer uses fiberglass or carbon from a handful of sources. why would you consider something like this for anything other than a full blown race car?

Never seen plastic myself...but I admit, some thick lexan panels would be pretty sweet. I would buy some just so I could cruise to store and not be as worried about all the dings the inconsiderate people put in your doors with oversized suv's.
Kinda like the clear "eurohoods" Just never seen the lexan fenders or anthing like that before.

Really people? Just give thieves the opportunity to window shop, make a list and come back later and rip you off. A blow torch would never set off any alarm either.
OMG that **** is too funny. A plastic trunk??? seriously, then everyone would know when I shopped at walmart
Speaking of cars from the 90's, think bodykits will ever make a comeback?

i happen to love the amuse body kit for the 350z and 350z as well as all the wide bodys and veilside
If you're looking for a "plastic" front end, you want to talk to Exospeed. They make a full 3 piece front end, made specifically for drag use. Widened body, made to fit drag slicks, and make to be legal in the Street class. Weighs something like 20lbs total between the fenders and front bumper. As for the hood, carbon fiber or fiberglass.
