So i recently was in a car accident and my front end got busted up but not too bad so i thought i would throw on the jdm front end but i didnt realize the exact inspections i was gonna have to have since the cars title was gona have to be put over to salvage, brake and lamp inspection. The big deal is that i live in cali i heard that pretty much everywhere else you can pass easily so i was just wondering for any other fellow cali people if they heard or have passed the brake and lamp inspection with the jdm front end? Do i just have to hope to find a very lenient shop like the one i heard of which is like a mom and pop shop, ive been hearing they do like a quick 20 min visual only inspection as to where i heard some shops do a VERY thorough 2 hour inspection. PLease any input would help because going back to a usdm front end would be a pretty horrible experience after getting the jdm front end put on. thanks guys

i dont think it matters if you have a skyline gtr front end. lights are lights. make sure you have all lights in working order.

 

Except the JDM Integra front end headlamps aren't legal for use in the US. RHD vs. LHD.

They also lack the mandated side reflectors and marker lamps.

 

JDM lights dont have DOT numbers so if you go to a VERY thorough 2 hour inspection you will not pass.

I had a buddy that was pulled over in a RHD eg hatch, the officer told him to drive the car legally in the USA all glass and lights to name a few things must be changed over to USDM parts.

 

i found a place that i called that said they do the inspection in like 40 mins and ive heard from others that it was even shorter than that. the guy does visual only and if u have rims that u can see through i heard he just looks right through them to do the brake check

 

that place is kinda far does anyone have a friend that has a shop that does the brake and lamp inspection? please pm me

 

Then thats where I would go and cross your fingers that he doesnt look for DOT #s.

Good luck I want to use jdm DC headights in my DA w/o changing hood and fenders.
