Please help, or i'm gonna go nuts!!
i've just put on a big bore throttle body on, and now my car idles at like 1500 rpm or has a spuratic idle that goes up and down. it won't sit in one spot. has anyone else had this problem? is my ecu reading to much air or something? please help me..anyone. thanks

yeah, i've checked everything. theres no vacuum leaks anywhere...the map sensor is fine...all is well..i just can't figure out why its doing this. i have a P30 ecu..could it be bad? or not wanna register the overflow of air? the idle is fine with a stock TB though. that is what is weird.

There should be a big slotted screw to adjust the idle with on the TB. You did use a gasket on the TB to intake mani right? Also clean the screen on your IACV. MAke sure it's functional. If I remember correctly, the intake mani has channels that go from the IACV to before the throttle plate so that the IACV can control idle. Does the throttle body have ports in it to match the IACV channels?
how can u use the gasket wrong? it is a brand spankin new iacv. not sure if the channels match or what that means. can i adjust the iacv?? the thing is, it idled fine with the stock tb

Unplug the IACV and see if you can get a stable idle by adjusting the idle screw. If not... put the stock TB back on and call it a day.
yeah, pretty sure that lines up. see what happens is that when the car is cold it idles fine..i can let it sit there and it will be good. but after i drive it for a little bit or beat on it, thats when it starts to idle at 1500rpm or be iradic.

Fast idle thermo, my 2nd gen 'teg has one. Not sure about later model Hondas. It's a valve that lets air in when the engine is cold. As the engine warms up, a piece of wax in the valve melts and closes the valve. It's under the throttle body, has a coolant in and a coolant out hose. Mine got jammed open somehow, had to swap it out.

it should be fine afterwards
allready tried that. with the stock TB it is fine. when the car is cold with the new TB it is fine. just when the car is driven for a little while or is beaten on does the idle the go to 1500rpm
