Default Transmission explosion

So about 2 years ago i was on my way to work, and i was gonna see what my car would top out at, at the time i had a short ram intake and a muffler that was all. Well it got to 115mph and 5th gear completley gave out! there was no oil in the trans or the engine...weird anyway so after 2years of of the need for speed itch being an annoying f***ing rash that was uncontrollable, i decided, since the trans completely locked up about a month ago...maybe ill swap it out now. So im putting a prelude trans in its place, hopefully will be a little quicker, also has stage 1 clutch new flywheel new axles new seals. SO MY QUESTION IS WHY WILL MY CAR NOT PERFORM AS IVE SEN MANY OTHERS OUT PERFORM MINE. as in top speed that is? where mine topped at 115 then exploded, ive seen others that will push easily 135mph.....any ideas motor is f22b1 with cold air intake, full 2in piping, high flow magnaflow cat, otto racing muffler, ebay header, recent all ngk tune up, lowered 2in......also very off subject, but im looking to trade some wheels if anyone lives near alabama....

You're right, it probably had little to no fluid in the tranny. Perhaps a leak. However, I'm not sure if you're talking about your engine or your tranny.

I'm thinking 1994 vintage Accords with normally aspirated f22b2 motors (regardless of add-ons) will never see 135 mph unless we're talking down-hill with a gale force wind at the six.

Well neat story. I topped my 1992 Accord LX automatic out when I went on junk yard runs. Mine topped out at 110 according to the speedometer. The computer cuts off fuel at 100. The speedometers are not very accurate anyway.

You must not know about vtec in accords, it isnt a peformance item... Being a EX isnt a reason your car will go faster, actually it makes your car slow as its heavier..

This thread makes me feel like I am reading a bad side show of F&F... I car maked out at 130 today, I need NOS.. Better make it two tanks

"I need one of these, the big ones, you know what better make it two, oh and Harry i need them by tonight!" I appreciate the input but i knew that already, the fact that its ex dosen't make it "faster" persay, but ive seen numerous accords run to their full potentional, non vtec or vtec they have differences, ive driven the differences also, thats y i went with the EX, for all its features that sets it apart. ive seen some that will top out right around 135mph, again like i said mine hit 115mph and failed miserably...hahahaha anyway it "should" by experience of driving other ex's hit near 135mph. Ughhh this is frusturating. oh well maybe someone will know

see my thoughts were maybe the person who had it b4 me swap the trans out with a different geared one. IDK. hopefully dropping the H series trans will change it up a lil, prolly wont help my top end too much though. Anyone else did f22b1 with H trans? what happened? quicker shifts im sure, do to the closer gear ratio. let me know.

Maybe the voices in the chorus weren't clear enough; a normally aspirated 4 cylinder Accord of your vintage will not do 135 mph.

My f22b2 topped out at 123mph a few years back. Ran out of road and have never tried it again.
