The turbo that came with my car when i bought it seems to be the "ebay t3/t4" the compressor housing has a 3" inlet and 2" outlet..

Is it worth it to rebuild this turbo with a ebay rebuild kit. Reason of course is the car was smoking and when i checked the exhaust wheel it was wet with oil

Theres more than one type of t3/t4 turbo. And not all rebuild kits are the same

 

hmm..i don't know how else to describe it, it has no name etc stamped on it just a/r 50 on the compressor housing
..I could put a pic up of it..

 

You'd have to take the covers off and measure the wheels to even guess what it is. Although that doesn't always work because ebay turbos use odd sized wheels

 

you didnt check the engine out before you bought it?
i recommend just replacing the turbo assuming that it is the issue with a name brand turbo
