can i purchase a led controller for this gauge cluster?

if not do they sell something that regulates the voltage or amperage or whatever for the lights at radio shack?

the reason im asking is because iv read that leds cant just get 12 volts like a regular bulb so i dont want to go in and fry everything.

 

The 12V cluster LED's should have resistors built in. There is a vendor in marketplace (LightsonLED) who should be able to hook you up.

thats the thing im not quite sure what i need. i found this from glow gauges (not my brand gauge face but figure there all about the same)

EDIT: google searching led me to this... is it a pulse width modulator? is that the thing that makes the dimmer for l.e.d's?

the previous owner had something almost identacle to this but it wasnt hooked up to anything so i though it was part of his jacked up crazy sterio system and threw it away now im thinking it was to the gauges.

 

It's not led , its electro luminescent. You are missing the inverter. either purchase something like so

or remove the stupid thing altogether and utilize the stock dash/factory dimmer
