Default Gauge Cluster Problem

Well I just got new gauge overlays and the instructions told me to slip them through the needle but i couldn't because the needle had a hangover on the other side. so took the needles off and tried out my new gauges, but when i put the needles back on the rpm and the hot and cold gauge don't read correctly anymore and the speedometer stays at like 60mph and moves occasionally but it jumps . So does anyone have any advice on what to do?

Yea man you broke them. It is pretty common. I broke my gas and temp gauge when I first put mine on. I had to get another cluster.

Thank you so much guys! I just ordered a new gauge cluster yesterday so hopefully it comes in soon. And I hope I can put them on right this time. Any advice on putting them on correctly?
