I have a JDM H23a vtec in a 97 prelude, it is automatic. Is there a difference between obd1 and obd2 transmissions in these cars? or will everything bolt up. Will a jdm 92-96 Prelude 94 - 97 Accord Automatic tranny (MP1A) hook up to the obd2 JDM H23a vtec with no issues?

 

Ya all h series transmissions are interchangeable as far as bolting them on. The electronics side will most likely be different though.

 

Any clue on what is different, and what needs to be done to make it work?

 

Which one are you trying to use? I would bolt your old one to the new motor.

 

the tranny that comes from the h23a is one of a kind.....if u plan on using it ur going to need the ecu as well...ive got one if u need it

 

Is yours obd2? Or does that even matter is you have the tcu to go along with it? Shoot me a message with what you have.

 

it is obd2. the tcu and ecu are all in one.

 

How many miles? Is it "sport shift"

 

the block it came with had 26xxx miles on it. tranny is tiptronic.
