Exhaust Backfire? Maybe blocked by cat.
I went to a dragstrip, Bandimere specifically, and there was a Honda Civic that raced and had a lot of backfiring when it burned out and took off. I can hear it "backfire" every once in a while after accelerating and motor braking. However, there is no explosion out the back muffler like this:
Would the cat stop this explosion from coming out? I have a 89 Civic Si w/ 96 B18b1 swap and custom exhaust. Dc header, 2.25" piping, high flow cat, and Skunk2 muffler. No resonator.

That doesn't answer my question. I don't have a turbo so what does anti-lag have to do with anything? My question was essentially: Is the cat in my exhaust blocking the fire from leaving the exhaust system?
