91 ef d15b2 keeps jumping time!! Help!
OK yall. I bought this 91 civic 128k, looked like a decent car, in NON RUNNING condition. I picked it up for 400. I replaced the Dist, since it wasnt getting any spark. SO, then i had spark, still wouldnt crank. I pulled the timing cover off, and the belt(timing) was loose. SO, I tightened it, and it ran DECENT. I went to run it to take my daughter to work that night, and it cut off WITHOUT being able to start back. I pulled it back to the house, and pulled the timing cover again, the belt was loose again. SO, This morning I broke it all back down again, put it ALL BACK TO SPEC, after finding it was a tooth or two off. Drove it today, and it was running DECENT. Tonight, I went to take it to the store, cranked it and boom, did the same **** it did the other night. The timing belt seems fine, the tensioner seems fine...I cant figure this **** out! I am Broke and dont know what to do!!! Please Help!!!
NOTE all parts, plugs and wires ect. arent new.

If the belt has damaged teeth then it really doesn't matter how old it is. Take it out and verify that there's no damage.
Also check the tensioner (I'd replace it) as already suggested. The only thing the belt rides on that can actually change position is the tensioner. Everything else is in a fixed position.

91stocksi answered your question, as you did when you described what happen.. if the belt keeps coming loose i would change the tensioner.. also as 91 said, save some cash and do the water pump as well.. i mean if you have that side apart, why not change it.. the post i quoted ISNT going to help your cause :/ not being a dick, but.. u had the help from 91SI.. my car has 360k on the stock motor and i just reciently changed out the belt and tensioner and its running like a damn champ.. i hope this helps.. also if cash flow is tight, check out click here they have some DECENT prices.. hope all goes well man.. if worse comes to worse, SWAPPP ITTT! lol a nice b series would look juuuuuust fine lol
EDIT: take a look at the cam gear and make sure all the teeth are ok on that.. i know its a stretch, but check it anyway just to be sure..

Being broke and needing to fix something don't mix, you're gonna have to spend money somewhere. If you plan on keeping the car for a while, do yourself a favor and just put a timing kit on + water pump.
Will it cost money? Yes.
Will it probably fix your issue and let you rest easier than driving on old parts? Definitely.

but, you drove this and it went out of time twice? you may have deeper issues then, valvetrain damage

Ok thanks all for the help. It ended up being the base timing. I thiught it was jumping because when it first acting up, the belt was loose when i checked it. what a coincedence. So I got the dist turned to time it with the jumper in the inside plug by the passenger foot...In other words brought it back in time. Thanks for all the help!
