I re-installed my 5.9 axles today and noticed on the right side, it doesn't look like it goes into the tranny all the way. I've never noticed this before but when I caught it, I tried to reinstall it over and over and that looks like it's the way it is. Can anybody confirm this? I would call DSS but it's the weekend.

 

That's how it goes. Maybe a little more but mine looks similar

 

if i remember right thats how mine sit, just make sure you feel the "click" going in.

 

Your good to go, thats how that side fits.

aight. Thanks guys. I just wanted to be sure. I thought I heard the c clip snap into place but paranoia got the best of me.

 

Ditto on my 2.9's and my friend's 5.9's. If you remove the axle, you will notice that it's stepped and that's where it stops once in the trans.
