Default OT: Full-Blown's dual Walbro setup for Honda's!

Nice work, LJ! I'm proud to see a local come out with a nice fuel setup like this...

Ok guys starting off with the technical part of this post...

Alot of people believed that 2 walbros would fit inside the tank but could not get it in without hacking the opening of the tank. They are absolutely right, (2) walbros side by side would never fit through the opening of the tank. How ever they do sit very nice side by side in the baffle.

I know alot of people have mixed feelings about running 2 walbros, but weve made dual hangers for SRT's that are making about 700hp, Evos making 900+hp, DSM 1G's making well over 600hp. Plus there are a bunch of guys supra guys running around with this setup.

I have a SX pump on my civic and it is the most annoying thing ever! That was what got me to make a dual pump for the Evo that i also own. I could not stand a daily driver that buzzes all the damn time. Also I didnt want to sump the tank and all that stuff.

Well, I woulnt say this is a solution but rather an option for those guys that dont want to turn to the external pump route. I took alot of pics of how everything is put together so you guys can see how it all works. Some minor changes will be made in production but this is pretty much the final prototype. enjoy

This is everything that is needed to put the pumps in minus a couple small clamps, the rubber seal is reused from the stock unit.

I Install the supplied hose and aluminum rod so I can grab the pump later

I then layed everything on top of the tank

Next I slid the right pump in and pushed it down

Same for the other side

Then I attached the hose to the main cap and clamped it down

Next I pushed the slack of the hose down in the tank

Then I pulled on the aluminum wire to get the right pump back up and positioned it so i can bolt it to the main housing

Same goes for the left pump

Finally push the cap down and bolt her up and put the fittings on

Heres how they look sitting inside the tank.

A hanger for three in-tank pumps would be even sicker especially for the SFWD folks.

Keep turning the boost up and adding more fuel in the map, you'll be sure to find out.

I like it, but depending on the price of the mounting bracket it will cost the same, if not more than getting a bosch 044 external. If it can support more than 650 HP than I would say it is better than the 044 setup, seeing some people are maxing them out at 650hp.. I know it works on other cars very well, but I am wondering if the fuel bowl in the honda tank will have enough fuel to support 2 pumps pulling fuel from it simultaneously. Very nice fab work!

I like this as well. How much would this kit sell for? How would dual walbros compare to an aeromotive a1000.

or what about an eliminator??? but this is some good dtuff for the mid 500-600 hp guys, the way i see it if you are a competitor in SFWD then you have the money for a 42r, then you should have money for a solid fuel set up but then thats just my .02

Nice setup, a single pump works fine all day at 650 HP. I don't see why this wouldn't be good for up to 800 - 850 HP. Supra guys do similar stuff, don't they?

Yeah Supra guys run dual walbros to about 750-800whp then they'll go to 3 walbros for the big boy #s.

The twin pump works....i rigged a setup on a street car over a year ago that made 785whp on 1000cc injectors..the duty cycle was like 100% but it held up...

we had a supra come to us that had 3 walbro's.....due to high boost and high pressure it didnt work very well at all. had to put a weldon pump in it. at 40lbs of boost one of the 3 fuel pumps quit working......... scary

In the event that one pump fails, and you're tuned for the dual pump, what fail safes are there to prevent running lean?

apparently the flow sheet didnt make it to this post where the results showed it will flow enough fuel at 75psi to support over 1000hp

I know some of the turbo viper guys are running 3 walbro 255 pumps making 1500+whp so theoretically this should be good up to 1000whp with 2 pumps.

It could have been a faulty pump because running three 255's amongst big boost supra's is a very common thing now adays. I've seen a few supra's already pushing over 40psi and holding up with three in-tank's which is why I say that.

I'm running twin pumps... but wait, they are Bosch 044's

The twin in-tank setup is nice, but as some have said... this is kind of in the middle of power setups. I'm more comfy with a sump and bigger line/pumps for 800+

On our CFT Red Hatch we ran the 2006-2007 season with 2 Walbro Inline pumps with ZERO problems and we made 800+whp.
I don't see why this won't work...

FullBlown Great job
