Default B16A2 - Engine won't start

Hi 2 all,
I've got a problem with my Civic Ferio, it's got the B16A2 engine and it's stock without any modifications (75.000 miles). The engine went out on Monday after smooth acceleration from a crossing with lights.
I thought it should be the ignition module, a well known problems with those engines....
But after changing the module and installing a new one the engine still does not start. I checked the fuel pressue by myself, the PGM-FI relais is working and fuel is at the fuel filter after ignition is turned on. Unfortunately I couldn't check if the ignition is working so far, I'm all allone.
Do you know any common problems except the iginiton ECU with those engines which prevent them to run?

Checked today, there is no spark at the plugs, no igniton at all. Going throuh the troubleshooting guide from the handbook I figured out that the ignition coil has not the correct resistance at all.
I have now ordered a new coil, don't know what should be else if the ignition is not working and the ignition module is already new....?!

if you have no spark to the plugs, you need to check for 12v at the ylw/blk wire at the dizzy.if you have 12v,dizzy internals(anything from coil and icm,to cas and tdc sensor).if you do not have 12v,under dash(ignition switch, main relay, ecu).

coil should read .6 - .8 ohms

if the wires going to the coil wont make a circuit, you have a cas/tdc sensor problem and will most likely need to replace the entire dizzy..at least that's what mine did.if a ground isnt working to make a circuit with the other wires, look into it.

Thanks for your post! I have 12 Volt at the yellow/black cable, already checked that.
I guess "dizzy" is distributor...?
What's the meaning of "cas", where is the tdc sensor located?

You should also check to make sure your timing belt didn't break as well.

dizzy=distributor
12v at the ylw/blk with no spark to the plugs tells you it is in the dizzy internals.at this point you need to find out which internal is faulty,or if a ground isnt working, etc.

cas(crank angle sensor) and tdcs(top dead center sensor) are the two sensors deep inside the dizzy, under everything when you take the icm and coil out.

all of the wires going to the icm and coil, come first from the cas and tdc sensor.

Thanks, I'll wait for the coil these days and replace it, letting you know the outcome!

I'll do that as well, but should be the engine sounds "weird" if the timing belt it broken & the starter runs...?
It sounds absolutely normal.

OK, it was really the coil. Replaced today, engine runs fine again
Thanks 2 all!
