Race fuel -> premium fuel engine...ok?
no.. unless you have your timing set for super high octane and you don't adjust it to handle lower octane like 92 from the pump.
Adjust your timing and pay chevron a visit.

if it was built with really high compression pistons......your stuck with race fuel.....or mixing gas

I don't think the kind of engine has anything do to with it, but if you guys want to know, it's a B18C spec R JDM type-R engine. I was told the compression in those was 11.5:1, but that seems pretty high for me. I think it's more like 10.5:1.
Engine is completely stock by the way, execpt for a pair of AEM cam gears and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

you can run 12:1 on 93 octane w/o problems and w/ minimal timing adjustments off stock.
i run 93 all the time, fuct up at the gas station and put 89 in it. sloooooooooooooow car dunno. my dad runs 89 in his vigor all the time. i threw 93 in it and was able to chirp into 2nd. its auto and bone stock. running less than 93 wont let me chirp
