Hi guys,
I'm considering an '07 RDX for my wife. It has roughly 50K miles and looks clean.
Whats the reliability on the turbo 4 cyl, and the SH-AWD in general? My folks have an '05 RL and while a very nice car, its caused them some financial loss.
Any experiences good bad or otherwise?

Because RDX is not all that popular, I've not heard much. I have read that the check engine light (tubro related) and SH-AWD warning light do come on. But nothing is "wrong." When the dealer checked it, nothing is "wrong."
Could this be some kind of warning, or gremlins? Who knows, and the car is still "new" to really build any kind of history.
Most of the RDX complaints are about the tech features. That's expected in some ways since the car is loaded with electronic goodies.
Overall, have not heard/read anything about all out failures or this engine sucks kind of statement. Then again, I don't own one....
Maybe a CR-V EX-L. The 4WD system is "Honda-like" as you know it.
I've had my 07 RDX for a little over 5 years now. She has about 117k miles on it, and had 54 on it when I took delivery.
For one, it's picky on gas. You should run top tier gas in it.
I don't have the tech package on mine so I can't really speak on that. The amp tends to cut out if you're on a long road trip and have had the stereo on for an extended period of time. Otherwise no other electrical issues.
Oil, you should run the manufactured suggested oil, Mobil-1 fully synthetic.
The passenger seat on the 07 is not powered, silly for a vehicle that's 35k.
The rear cargo is ok, until you try to put 2 golf bags and 2 push carts in, then you have to try and play tetris.
gas mileage: if you have a heavy foot you'll find yourself in the 18mpg zone, regardless city or highway. I've managed to get 22-23mpg on 93 octane.
I've considered the Hondata Reflash and e85, but that won't be until spring.
The SH-AWD is superb for an SUV. Tire life sucks though. OEM Michelin tires only last about 35k miles. You'll want to run Blizzaks or equivalent snow tires.

Mine has been good to me. I drive it on the hard side, but I maintain it very well. The only two issues I've had is some moisture in one headlight, and had some problems with the ignition tumblers, and had to replace the ignition. Not a single issue otherwise. Owned it a year+ and done about 25k miles.
