Default Wheel bearing direction

Just had new front wheel bearings pressed in, and wondering if there is a certain direction they goes in? Can you get them in the wrong way, in other words?

In this case it's my EK9 and Koyo bearings

The mechanics that changed them said it doesn't matter which way it goes in.
But it's only one of the sides that have the rubber.
Anyone knows? Don't want to install the knuckles if one of the bearings sits wrong

yes, it matters. I recommend refering to a factory service manual to confirm the correct direction.

But, if memory serves the metal seal should be on the inboard side (near CV joint) and the rubber seal should be on the outboard side (near rotor/wheel).
