The head stamp doesn't really mean a lot. The date stamped is far more useful. Basically, any head made 92+ is considered a 2nd gen

Okay I'll check the year stamp.
But the p3-4 is a b16a head correct?

Assuming you mean PR3-4, it is a B16A head. I don't believe you can differentiate first/second gen B16A with the head stamp alone. Look for the date stamp, that should be a dead giveaway.

PR3-4 could be an itr head but again date stamp would give that away.

This by far is the best way to go however that number is only the year which the casting was done. you could have a 92 casting on a 00 ITR because Honda made so many PR3 heads. Mine is date stamped 90 and I was told it was from a JDM motor. Also looking at the Vtec oiling rails will help you decide if it is an older head or newer head. I will take pics of the 2 different oilers, one is extruded and one is cast. Also a PR3 head is a PR3 head unless it is a Type R then they are all the same. And there is no way to tell by the casting numbers if it is a Type R head. For example PR3-(pick a number) means nothing to us and is in no way an indicator of what motor the head came from. The only way to ID a Type R head is to look for the dual intake and exhaust valve springs, port work, cams and/or the lighter intake valves.
PR3 is a B16A/B, B17 or B18C Type R head
P72 is a GSR head

So my head has stamp 92. So it's a sec gen. Can someone post of how the internals should look like.

Yes, it's a 2nd gen.....they are all the same, i wouldn't worry about it. A 92 is exactly the same as one made in 2000

Yeah all B16A PR3 heads are the same the year does not matter, the same can not be said for the cams however. OBD0 and all auto trans B16 suck they are the smallest B series cams. OBD1 and OBD2 B16 cams are the same.
