Default Motor confusion (d15B?)

so I just picked up a 93 civic dx 4 door and the block says d15b with no number after it with a vtec head that says P2J4 on it
can anyone make any sense of this
The head doesnt seem stock because the vtec is not wired up but I looked up a D15b with vtec and they are all japanese until an obd2 vehicle from 2000 but everything is obd1
Anything helps thanks

Pictures would help. Don't really understand what you are talking about. VTEC not plugged in? Do you have duel VTEC? What ECU are you running? Jesus! More detail man! C'mon. We're not wizards.

What ECU does your car have? Are there any CELs?

It sounds like you have a D15B 3 stage vtec motor.

I can post a picture (and will in my next post) but i dont think it will be of any help... This car has a stock wiring harness from the original engine and the original engine is not a D15B and it doesnt have vtec what I am asking is if this head matches the D15B block if anyone knows and what kind of motor it is There were multiple D15B's but they were all jdm or were really recent and obdII which this is not
My final goal is to get the correct wiring and ecu to make the vtec functional
Thanks

It has the stock ecu with just a swapped motor along with a stock harness... There is no cel although it has disconnected from the battery and hasnt been driven far or really even been completley warmed up
I dont think it will get a cel either because the vtec isnt wired up and has no wiring and the ecu probably wouldnt recognize it either
It would be great if it was the 3 stage vtec seems rare for america
Thanks for your wizard reply ; )

What is that? I live in Washington and dont know of any places like that but either way still seems like a cool motor 130 ish hp instead of 130 ish hp with a d16
