hey all. my 94 vtec lude has had its abs light on for ages; now i decided to fix it. when i start driving i can hear a buzzing noise for about 30secs as if the pump is trying to go then a click and the abs light comes on. i did the codes and it goes like this:
1flash, long pause,1 flash, long pause,1 flash. ive done this quite a few times and so has the mechanic i brought it too and im not sure what this code means? is there anything i can do to fix this myself? even a quick fix i just want it to pass the warrant but to do that the light needs fixed and i cant just take the bulb out now cause it has been entered into the system as that fault so i need it fixed. thanks people

 

I have the exact same problem man..

No clue how to fix, but there's probably some one out there who has had the same problem. These ABS systems seem to go out on a lot of the 4th gens, or most cars pretty much lol.

Try searching it here and on google.. So you won't get bashed by hella people lol.

 

cheers, yeah i have googled it but the thing is im not sure about the code it is sending out. might be motor pump over run? my mechanic was not good either he didnt know what the code was saying and he said the fault was a fuse which would keep blowing but when i googled the fuse locations (jap import so everthing is written in jap) it was the interior lights fuse which i fixed by checking the electrics and finding it was the cig lighter. cant a decent mechanic in this crappy town im in at the min... so annoying

 

Are you hearing almost like a buzzing noise coming from the front? My 92 is doing the same.

 

If u did the blink test and it went 3 long flashes then a short one, im pretty sure thats 31

sounds like it went long flash, long flash, long flash, then quick last flash? sorry i had to elaborate a little more hard to tell if i cant see

I think your code is 31

 

1 flash long pause, 1 flash long pause, 1 flash. Sounds like code 2-1. Problem in the parking brake circuit. Does the red brake light come on when you turn the key on?

Both my buddy and I are having the same issues, I'm removing abs so I didn't really worry about it, but he's not, so if you guys find a fix or a DIY thread post the link up in here.

 

if you dont mind just throwing parts at is you could always try replacing the wheel sensors because it could be the problem

 

cant believe that mechanic couldnt read that code
